Consitancy is KEY

Well I fell off the bandwagon just after day one.  Back on it today though.  I actually had someone email me and tell me that they enjoyed my first BLOG post.  Just the motivation I needed to keep it going.  Well, Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Statistics tell us that the average American gains 2-5 pounds over the Holiday Season and never lose that weight.  You multiply that by 30 years of Holidays and that is anywhere from 60-150 pounds of excess weight.

So is it possible to live a healthy lifestyle without the LORD on your side? No I say!
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Psalm 121:2-3 (NLT)

Ask Jesus to help you with everything in your life, even fitness and wellness related.  Can't stay away from the pumpkin pie and cool whip?  It's ok you can have a piece, just not the whole pie and a few others.  Ask the Lord to control your impulse to eat all the so called "good" stuff.  By good I mean high calorie and high fat.

Wake-up Call

Well this is my first official blog entry.  I have never done a blog before.  Actually I have never even read someone else's.  I guess I would be considered a blog amature/novice.  The purpose of this blog is to help those who are not happy with their current fitness state of being.  It may be that you are overweight, out of shape, too skinny (probably not too many of those), insecure, exhausted all the time, stressed to the max, or anything else.  In full disclosure I have my own chains that pull me down from being the person I would like to be.  I would like to say that I am in great shape, the perfect percentage of body fat, and could do 100 pull-ups non stop, but that is not the current reality. That is not to say that someday it will not be, but given my current state it is not.  I have a client that told me a story of a trainer that gained 60 lbs because his clients said that he did not know what they went through everyday, because he was in amazing shape.  I though about using that excuse for myself.....yes I am probably 20lbs overweight and I did it all so I could relate.  Nope, not the case.  I am 20lbs overweight because I do not workout enough, I eat too much and I just sometime lack the motivation to do what I need to do to get the job done.  So this blog is the beginning of the new and improved me and I hope that it will inspire you to make changes in your life for the better.  Yes this is a fitness website and I am a personal trainer, but there is more to life than losing 20lbs, getting a 6 pack, ad being the epitome of fitness.  I often struggle with this in my faith in Christ Jesus.  Am I being selfish in my fitness pursuits.  Am I not suppose to be humble and serve others? The answer is YES.  So how does taking the time and energy to put in the hours and dedication into working out.  Is that not making it all about ME?  Would it not be better to take that time and read my Bible, volunteer, etc???  I guess it is the motivation and the reason you do it.  "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17 NIV).  So with that said I do this blog in the name of Jesus, and that my workouts that I share with you I do in the name of the living Savior so that I may be a light to the world and inspire others to become healthier so that they may live longer and more fulfilled lives and tell others about how Jesus is their personal trainer and above all else the Savior of the World!
